Mazurskie AGRO SHOW 2018 – summary of the exhibition

12.02.2018

The fourth edition of the Exhibition Agricultural Machines MAZURSKIE AGRO SHOW OSTRÓDA is over. Just as last year, this event attracted crowds of farmers from the north-eastern Poland. The Exhibition was held on February 10–11, at Expo Mazury facilities in Ostróda.

MAZURSKIE AGRO SHOW is an exhibition, mainly regional, created for farmers living and working in Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodship and in the neighbouring voivodships, as well as designated for regional distributors representing all leading Polish and foreign brands of agricultural machines and equipment, and for manufacturers of fertilisers, feeds, livestock buildings, plant protection agents and other companies from the widely understood agricultural sector.

“Once again we see that the idea to organise an exhibition in this region of our country was truly justified. After its three previous editions the event has already gained recognition, and we have managed to convince exhibitors and farmers it is worth coming here. This year, once again stands of the companies covered all available exhibiting area. I would like to emphasise that this is a regional exhibition, and yet it was visited by over 40 thousand farmers. Or 41,336 people, precisely,” says Mr Michał Spaczyński, Vice-President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Agricultural Machines and Facilities

The Exhibition was held in the largest halls of the Expo Mazury facilities and housed stands of 230 companies. It is a record result and better by nearly 10% versus the previous year.

On the first day the event was visited by The Minister Of Agriculture And Rural Development, Mr Krzysztof Jurgiel. The Minister spent a very busy day in Ostróda: first he met with reporters at a press conference. After the conference, the Minister participated in the official opening of the Exhibition. Then, together with a delegation of distinguished guests representing local authorities and government agencies, he visited the exposition. Finally, he talked with farmers during an open meeting focusing mainly on the Government’s agricultural policy. During the meeting, the Minister presented main development priorities and directions for the agriculture in Poland.

It should be noted that immediately after the press conference, a letter of intent was signed between the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities and Expo Mazury, in the presence of the Minister, concerning cooperation in organising an animal husbandry exhibition “Zagroda”.

The exhibition is also a place where farmers can supplement their knowledge. This time they could attend seminars organised by officers from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture. Subjects discussed during seminars concerned current issues of direct payments – eApplication and important changes in this area, and of the Programme for Rural Areas Development 2014–2020 – a current call for applications, including modernisation of farms and other activities. On the second day another equally interesting seminar was held, this time focusing on safe work on a farm. The seminar was given by KRUS officers. Thus, it is not surprising that on both days the subjects attracted a significant attention from farmers who actively participated in seminars.

“Mazurskie AGRO SHOW is a very successful event. We are glad to see it developing further with each year. This way, similarly as in previous years, the farmers from this region could explore extensive offers from Polish and foreign manufacturers of agricultural machines and equipment well ahead of the season, and meet their distributors directly in the region. We believe that some of these talks will lead to profitable transactions, advantageous both to entrepreneurs and the farmers.” says Mr Michał Spaczyński, Vice-President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Agricultural Machines and Facilities. “Finally, I would like to add that the Exhibition will be held in Ostróda for next few years; thus I would like to put the end to untrue rumours that also reached us, that this year’s edition was the last or penultimate one. This event has become well-established in the region and we want it to remain here for years.”

The Warmińsko-Mazurska Exhibition of Farm Animals was held simultaneously with the Exhibition Mazurskie AGRO SHOW.

The Exhibition Mazurskie AGRO SHOW will be held next year, on February 9-10, 2019.
