30 anniversary of BIN establishing

02.06.2020

BIN is a Polish family company, which name has become so familiar in popular knowledge that many farmers uses the name BIN also for silos of other manufacturers. Silos with a navy blue logo, shining in the sun, add splendour to Polish farms and improve the appearance of rural settlements.

What would become of the 21st century agriculture without a guiding concept of “improvement”? Humans learnt to draw from the wealth offered by the earth, and to use its potential. Attempts were made to improve its productivity by using increasingly efficient techniques, more effective expenditures, or a biological progress, and this also influenced plant production, and thus, a need for storage of crops. Already before 1990, a need and a concept to create a grain storage facility for his own farm formed in the head and the heart of one man. ‘This was the origin of the first two silos with a metal shell and a perforated floor’, recalls Mr Paweł Krzemiński, BIN President.
‘After ten years of these experiences, my brother Zygmunt officially registered “Zakład Mechanizacji i Automatyzacji Rolnictwa BIN”. Today, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary, and we can proudly confirm that our products have revolutionised storage of cereal and maize grain and of oil seeds in Poland’, he adds.
This is true. Traditional and problematic, because associated with significant losses, storage of grain in barns or on a dirt floor can now be replaced with specialist and modern flat-bottom silos with active ventilation, ensuring long-term storage of cereals without quality losses.

‘We focused on development.

Gradually, we expanded our production range with devices facilitating loading and unloading processes, using conveyors for grain transport. To ensure high quality of stored material and taking into account processes occurring in the stored grain, we added temperature sensors and fans to our range. We started to successfully construct storage facilities of large capacities, adopting to the market and rising expectations of our customers’ recalls BIN President. ‘In successive years, conical bottom silos and silos for fodder storage appeared the company’s range. At the end of 2019, we started to launch into the market flat bottom silos of corrugated metal sheets, of the loading capacity ranging from 500 to 5000 tonnes. They have up to 19 meters in diameter, and the highest is 26 meter high. Their sales are continuously increasing, so it is clear that this was a good move’ concludes the Company President. They can be equipped either with a steel or a concrete floor. The steel floor is perforated on its entire surface, and can be installed on concrete blocks or on steel trusses, enabling installation of a conveyor of a capacity of up to 150 tonnes/h. The concrete floor, with ventilation ducts and a maintenance channel for an unloading conveyor, represents an alternate solution. The silos can be equipped with a multipoint temperature probe for grain temperature measurements, and the installed ventilation system enables grain cooling and drying. With such large loading capacities, an efficient silo loading and unloading process is also important, and it is ensured by available mechanical equipment. During the design, a significant emphasis was put on the comfort and safety of operation. The design includes a safety channel as an alternate way for unloading, wide and safe operating platforms, and a comfortable bottom access manhole.

Quality and experience

Modern NC machines used in the production, and the extensive experience and commitment of our employees supported by a professional team of construction designers contribute to a continuous improvement in quality of our products and services. The company cooperates with suppliers whose products meet the most stringent standards of quality and safety. Contacts and cooperation with the leading institutes and research and Development centres were established, to document and confirm effectiveness of construction and technological concept, obtaining quality certificates and positive results of strength and operational safety tests. Du e to this approach, the Company products received numerous awards, and BIN was awarded numerous recognitions.

Silos, and much more.

Grain silos are a leading product of the Aleksandrów company, and it is from Kujawy that they travel to all corners of the world. Outside the Polish market, BIN products are appreciated in many European markets. Furthermore, the company manufactures farm sheds, bus stop shelters and school cabinets, and now plans to start production of retention tanks, to help and respond to problems of farmers affected by the drought. ‘Definitely, the success of achieving the global sales of the silos in a number exceeding 67 thousand pieces, of a total capacity of ca. 6.2 million tonnes of cereals through 30 years of our operations contributed to the civilizational progress in the Polish agriculture in the area of grain management’, proudly concluded Mr Paweł Krzemiński, BIN President.
