Cooperation with the Military University of Technology (Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna)

10.02.2022

The Military University of Technology will support the activities of the agricultural machinery and equipment industry. The scope of cooperation in the field of teaching and research is specified in the agreement reached on 9 February 2022 between the Military University of Technology and the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities in Toruń.

The agreement was signed by the Vice-Rector for Development of the Military University of Technology, Col. Jacek Świderski, BEng, DSc, professor at the Military University of Technology and President of the Board of PIGMUiR Józef Dworakowski.

The agreement provides for the initiation and implementation of joint research and development works, scientific and research consultancy, technical and technological consultations and expert opinions. It also assumes cooperation in organizing training for secondary school students as well as internships and apprenticeships for students. All these activities are to contribute to the support of domestic producers of agricultural machinery and equipment and the education of young people. Last year, the Military University of Technology provided the elements of the laboratory base by the Military University of Technology in order to conduct practical classes in the construction and operation of hydrotronic drive systems by PIGMUiR. Currently, as part of the project “Incubator 4.0”, financed by the Ministry of Education and Science, a mobile laboratory station for conducting classes in this field is being developed at the Academy. PIGMUiR is interested in the implementation of the position.

During the meeting preceding the signing of the agreement, Col. prof Jacek Świderski, emphasized that the Military University of Technology has numerous, well-equipped laboratories and cooperates with many external entities, including companies from the agricultural sector.

The tasks of PIGMiUR, presented by president Józef Dworakowski, include integration of industry companies, representation of common interests, exchange of experiences, coordination of activities of companies associated in the Chamber, cooperation with institutions associated with the agricultural industry, schools and universities, organization of specialized training courses and seminars, as well as promotion of companies from the industry – including the organization of agricultural exhibitions, .in. AGRO SHOW.

The Chamber supports the education of future employees, including mechanics specialists who will contribute to the development of domestic industry companies. The source of their acquisition are schools. However, they do not have sufficient research and laboratory facilities. The same applies to domestic companies associated in PIGMUiR. The Chamber counts on fruitful cooperation with the Military University of Technology in this area.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Technology Transfer Center of the Military University of Technology – director Adam Bartnicki, BSc, DSc and Bogusława Gradzik BSc, PhD, technology broker. The Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities was also represented by the Vice-President of the Management Board and Managing Director, Michał Spaczyński.
