29.06.2020

The New Holland plants in Płock and Kutno successfully restart the production, after their temporary closing, during which they implemented a number of procedures and solutions to ensure employees’ safety during the Covid-19 epidemics.

Currently, the majority of the Company’s production sites and New Holland logistic hubs restarted their operation, running at full capacity.

Agriculture is one of the main pillars of the Polish economy, and the plants in Płock and Kutno, manufacturing New Holland agricultural machines, play a key role in this sector. Farmers have a very important role as manufacturers of food, and work performed by them is very important from the point of view of the entire society; however, it is also governed by strict dates and cannot be postponed. The New Holland brand offered a continuous support to farmers throughout the temporary downtime, and now it restarts production to provide them with necessary equipment.

The factories in Płock and Kutno have a total production area of 56.5 ha, including 15.5 ha in buildings and roofed halls, and they employ nearly 1,900 people. Both centres have at their disposal modern construction offices, research and development centres, and cutting-edge machines to maintain excellent repeatability during production of agricultural machines and subassemblies. They continuously cooperate with an extensive network of Polish suppliers, which in 2019 included over 460 companies.

Płock: home of New Holland CX Series combine harvesters

The plant in Płock is dedicated mainly to production of New Holland cereal combine harvesters. In 2019, a completely new production line was started, equipped with the latest machines and production-support equipment. This is a line manufacturing CX combine harvesters, which for years have been enjoying continuous trust of farmers in Poland and all over the world.

For two decades, the factory in Płock have been manufacturing yellow combine harvesters and agricultural equipment, being one of the pillars of agriculture in Poland and influencing the development of the region through investment and employment levels. Currently, it employs 1,267 employees and is one of the largest employers in the city.

The Płock factory manufactures 11 models of rolling presses, 11 models of combine harvesters, and 34 models of harvesting units – all with the New Holland logo. In 2019, both factories cooperated with over 460 suppliers from Poland.

Kutno: home of New Holland auxiliary machines

The plant in Kutno manufactures agricultural machines sold under the New Holland and Kongskilde brands. Currently, the plant has two automated painting lines. One of the lines was also expanded with an additional paintbooth enabling a fast changeover of colours, and this improved the process of New Holland machines production.

In 2017, the Kutno factory joined the group CNH Industrial N.V. and changed its name to CNH Industrial Kutno Sp. z o.o.  A history of the plant in Kutno started in 1992, when a group of 8 people together with the Danish company Cormall Agro Holding founded a joint-venture company called Danagri Pol. The undertaken cooperation in manufacturing of components for agricultural machines produced by Kongskilde Industries in 1997 lead to a decision to merge Danagri Pol with the Kongskilde Group and change its name to Kongskilde Polska Sp. z o.o. This move opened to the Kutno factory an access to new markets, so its production started to rise. The obtained EU subvention enabled further development of technologies and expansion of the factory. In 2003, a modern facility of 11.300 m2, located in the very centre of Poland, was put into operation.
