Summing up the exhibition Green AGRO SHOW

29.05.2019

On May 25–26, 2019, an exhibition of agricultural machines Green AGRO SHOW was held, for the fourth time in Ułęż, and for the eighteenth time in its history. This event, the largest in Poland, is mainly intended for farmers cultivating green fodder crops, cattle breeders and milk producers.

Fortunately, the uncertain weather in the south of Poland, particularly in the week preceding the exhibition, did not disrupt the Organiser’s plans, and the event was held according to the planned scenario. Saturday and Sunday were sunny, and this was favourable for exhibitors and for visitors, who came to the exhibition in great numbers, as usually. According to the Organiser’s estimations, this year’s exhibition was visited by nearly 40 thousand visitors.

“With each year we see that the exhibition in Ułęż is becoming more widely known and increasingly better received by farmers and entrepreneurs operating in the agricultural sector in this region. Thanks to our efforts and promotion of the exhibition during last years, we manage to reach farmers and convince them to visit Green AGRO SHOW. This is confirmed by a fact that this year’s exhibition was record-breaking in many respects. Nearly 150 exhibitors exhibited on an area 2000 m2 larger than one year, that is, nearly 13,000 m2. As many as 56 machines participated in the presentations. It is a historical record! This year we had to calculate everything meticulously, so the area of a field planned for presentations was sufficiently large for all participants.” says Mr Michał Spaczyński, Vice-President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Agricultural Machines and Facilities.

This is true, this year the programme of machine presentations was very extensive. Green AGRO SHOW is a place where the largest in Poland presentations of green fodder machines are organised. It is a perfect opportunity for farmers – cattle breeders and milk producers, to see such an extensive range of machines working in the same field conditions at one place and time. Presentations included the following machines:

14 mowers
8 tedders
2 units for cultivation and undersowing
15 rolling presses
6 pressing and wrapping machines
4 wrapping machines
5 harvesting trailers
2 chuff cutters.

The presentations were divided into two parts. The first one, at 11:00, was dedicated to mowers, tedders, chuff cutters and harvesting trailers, and presses, pressing and wrapping machines, wrapping machines, and units for cultivation and undersowing were presented during the second part, at 1:00 p.m.
This year, a new opportunity to see the machines in detail directly after presentations was added. On special stands for the presented machines, representatives of manufacturers and dealers replied to detailed questions of farmers and showed technical details for the presented equipment.
At the same time, i.e., during a break between the presentations, settings of a selected tedder were shown, and this also attracted a great interest of the farmers.

During the exhibition, a special attraction was also prepared for some younger participants and fans of recording and displaying videos on YouTube. Especially for them, the second edition of the competition “Make show at AGRO SHOW” was held. The effects of work of young filmmakers will soon be available at a dedicated competition website and, of course, on YouTube.

“Our intent is to make Green AGRO SHOW a place where a traditional exhibition is combined with hands-on learning. Therefore, this year the machine presentations were changed, and for the first time they were managed by two hosts, who ran the show efficiently and professionally. Judging from reactions and comments of the farmers, this year’s presentations can be considered successful”, concludes Michał Spaczyński

This year’s Exhibition was held under honorary auspices of Mr Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and its media patron was TVP1. The event was open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The admittance was free of charge.
